The road to Delo/Deolo.

Delo (or Deolo) is a mountain-top picnic spot, in the Darjeeling district of West Bengal. Around 6 kms from Kalimpong town, it’s nice place to pay a visit if you are somewhere close-by. I went there in the month of December when I used to study in college which was quite near (around 2 hours by cab). The road to Delo/Deolo, like most hill roads is quite beautiful. At one point you even get see my college and the mighty Kanchenjunga in the same frame. This photo proved to be very popular on my Facebook feed. Delo has been converted into a nature park by the Government and there is a Government guest house within the park. Outside the park there’s not much.

After the series on Kochi, I guess it’s time for a series on Sikkim and near about from my archives. Technically though, Delo/Deolo is in West Bengal. I have a very bad habit of posting photos and I am trying really hard to correct that imbalance. The photo at the top shows the beautiful road to Delo.
